About me
Justin R. Stone is a passionate science educator with over 17 years of experience at the forefront of equity in education. His dedication to empowering students from all backgrounds began during his ten-year tenure as an Allied-Health Instructor at Miami-Jacobs Career College. There, he played a crucial role in guiding numerous minority students towards fulfilling careers in the medical field, including Respiratory Therapy and Surgical Technology.
Driven by a desire to reach a wider audience and make a lasting impact, Mr. Stone transitioned to high school science education. Currently, he serves as the Science Department Chair at Trotwood-Madison High School, where his leadership has been instrumental in exceeding state expectations for science education every year of his tenure.
Mr. Stone's unwavering commitment extends beyond academic achievement. He is a champion for equity in urban education and beyond. He actively seeks to dismantle barriers to success for all students, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to thrive. He currently holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Livingstone College. His commitment to this mission is further strengthened by his ongoing pursuit of a degree in Diversity and Equity at The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Mr. Stone is a dedicated educator who believes in the transformative power of science education. He has been awarded 2024 Teacher of Influence by Montgomery County Education Service Center, as well recently being an Ohio Teacher of the Year finalist and winner Ohio Teacher of the Year, District 3. He is a leader, a mentor, and an advocate for all students, fostering a learning environment where every individual can reach their full potential.
