Port Clinton Social Emotional Learning & Mental Wellness Symposium

The Leighton Leaders is a service group comprised of 5th grade students whose purpose is to support the school and community. Part student council, part service team, the group has traditionally read the morning announcements, done mail delivery, and provided opportunities for the school to participate in food drives, book drives, and the like.
This year's group of 36 students came in with a different focus...they wanted their service projects to directly improve our school environment and culture. This session is about how they have directed this change in the groups' purpose, how they have struggled and supported each other, and how the advisors have helped pave the way for their ideas.
